ELO Fulltext + OCR
The ELO fulltext module (including OCR and fulltext database) makes searching the entire content of a document possible. Not only Coded Information (CI) like, for example, MS Word/Excel or PDF files (text), but also Non-Coded Information (NCI) like, for example, scanned documents in TIF format, are indexed for fulltext searching with the ELO fulltext module. In addition, ZIP archives containing e-mails or PDFs -- including scanned images -- are handled correctly.
Whenever a document has been indexed for fulltext searching, then the entire content can be searched using freely chosen terms. This leads to a rapid increase in information access, particularly with unstructured information and documents. Fulltext search for CI documents lends itself to such items as, for example, the downloaded content of web pages, marketing information, product placement examples, press releases, e-mail messages, internal knowledge bases, blogs, wikis, as well as internal, informal correspondence.
Fulltext search in scanned images? It's totally simple with ELO OCR
With ELO OCR it is possible for users to acquire text information from image files (tiff, pdf, jpg, etc.). When a document is scanned -- for example, an invoice, an order form, or a delivery receipt -- the OCR reads the important information like customer number, address, money amounts and extracts it automatically into the keywording.

When a company works with standardized forms (order forms, contracts, invoices, delivery receipts), then it is possible for ELO OCR to automatically process and archive documents with keywording. Manual processing is no longer necessary. An additional advantage of ELO OCR is the fulltext search within TIFF files. This makes it possible to search the entire contents of scanned documents instead of just in the keywording forms. This guarantees a precise and speedy search.
